Event description

Description

A man who is not afraid to talk, Trevor Phillips is a broadcaster, author and former chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

He provoked some serious soul searching in the political establishment when in 2015, he wrote and presented: ‘Things We Won't Say About Race (That Are True)’ for Channel 4.

His essential line of argument is that free speech should ‘allow people to offend each other’. Is free speech part of the Art of Living? Has this art been lost or suppressed? What challenging truths about healthcare do we need to discuss?
