We are very excited to have with us three of the best product design studios in London (specialised in connected products) and one of the leading crowdfunding platform out there who will share invaluable insights about how to approach design and UX when building IoT products. Join us on the 4th of May to learn from:

Heather Corocoran - European Technology and Outreach at Kickstarter
Talk title: Why Product Design matters -- on Kickstarter and beyond
About the speaker: Heather Corcoran leads outreach for Kickstarter in the UK and Europe, with a focus on the Design & Technology communities. Based in London, she works closely with innovators, creators, and makers who use Kickstarter to bring new products to life.
About the company: Kickstarter is an American public-benefit corporation that maintains a global crowdfunding platform focused on creativity. To date, tens of thousands of creative projects — big and small — have come to life with the support of the Kickstarter community and over 10 million people, from every continent on earth, have backed a Kickstarter project.
Matthew Cockerill - Creative and Board Director at Seymourpowell
Talk title: Making things better
About the speaker: Matthew is a strategic industrial designer who’s been creating world-leading product experiences for 20 years. Working in the space where technology, people and business meet, he has expertise in long-term innovation and the hard-nosed experience to deliver product to market. His work spans many categories, from helping to create the world’s first modular smartphone, imagining future product categories for Samsung Electronics, creating luxurious whisky experiences for Johnny Walker to creating an IoT lifesaving system for mountaineers.
About the company: Seymourpowell delivers design and innovation projects for clients from leading global brands to ambitious start-ups. These range from highly category constrained products that go to market, to long term innovation and future product visions that are 5-10 years out. Adrian Westway, Co-founder & Director of Technology at Special Projects
Talk title: Magical interactions in connected products
About the speaker: Adrian is an inventor, engineer and experience designer on a mission to make the human-technology interaction meaningful and delightful. As co-founder of Special Projects he harnesses technology, inclusive research and magic thinking to devise design propositions that feel familiar yet wondrous. In 2007 he became the first ever James Dyson Fellow and in 2010 a Fellow of the Royal Commission of 1851.
About the company: Special Projects is an award winning product design and innovation studio based in London.
SP helps global organisations and startups to accelerate innovation by uncovering human insights and transforming them into tomorrow’s products, apps, services, and experiences. Some of their clients have been BBC, Blackberry, Google, Samsung, Nokia and many more.
Mike Hankin, Lead Designer at Morrama
Talk title: Where does the design process start and end?
About the speaker: Graduating from BA Product Design at Central St. Martins, Mike has worked with startup and established businesses and clients including MUJI, Danone and Canyon. At Morrama he uses expertise in product design, strategy and design thinking to provide meaningful and insightful product propositions to startups.
About the company: Morrama is a team of multidisciplinary designers that partners with startups, entrepreneurs and businesses to design and develop unique, meaningful and marketable product propositions. Based in London, Morrama offers end-to-end design services to companies from around the world taking projects from early stage idea through to product launch.
