The Role of your Board in Sustaining Organisational Resilience

We’ll be looking back on Trustee Week 2025 and considering the Board’s role in relation to organisational fundraising.

Your Board should be a great asset in enabling your organisational resilience and in challenging times we cannot afford to waste any opportunities to strengthen that. And yet, too often we hear from fundraisers who feel they are unable to realise their Board's potential and are struggling to develop a fundraising narrative that is understood and shared across the organisation.

In this session we will explore and unravel some of these common challenges. As well as thinking about the specific role of Development Committees and their relationship to fundraising, we’ll be more broadly considering the relationship between all Trustees and their organisation’s fundraising efforts - what do they need to know, how do you manage that communication, what are the hallmarks of excellent Trustee and fundraiser relationships, and how can you most effectively use their insights and experience to achieve the goals that you collectively share?
