Description

Live Music Now Scotland is teaming up with Edinburgh City Libraries Music Library for a relaxing concert with music from the Rosewood Duo.

The Rosewood Duo are a classical guitar and flute duo based in Glasgow, consisting of guitarist Lewis Dunsmore and flautist Leila Marshall, both of whom are recent graduates from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's Bachelor of Music degree course. The Rosewood Duo perform regularly as part of the music outreach charity Live Music Now Scotland.

Included in the programme The Rosewood Duo will be performing Mill Memories by Savourna Stevenson. Savourna will introduce her composition. Mill Memories was commissioned by Live Music Now Scotland in 2017 with funding from Paisley’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2021.

Mill Memories is a celebration of the mills of Paisley through the memories of the mill workers. The mills were central to Paisley's status as a city of international industrial acclaim through the famous Coats cottons and silks and the exquisitely patterned Paisley shawls but central also to the commumity and social life of its workers.

Live Music Now was founded in 1977 by Yehudi Menuhin, and Live Music Now Scotland was formed in 1984. It is a unique organisation which has keep Menuhin's vision alive in ensuring that all members of society, whatever their circumstances, have access to the enriching experience of live music, This concert is one of Live Music Now Scotland's PAC-T series of events – performer, audience, composer – together.
