The Royal Marines Young Musician of the Year Competition 2026 is an exciting annual event which brings together some of the finest military musicians from the Royal Marines School of Music, all of them hoping to win the prestigious Cassel Prize and become the Royal Marines Young Musician of the Year.

The Royal Marines School of Music, located inside His Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth, is the training home for future Royal Marines Band Service musicians and buglers. The final of the Young Musician of the Year Competition showcases some of the best musicians from the School, performing in front of their peers, a panel of judges and an audience made up of friends, family and the public.

Join us for what promises to be a stunning evening of live music in the beautiful surroundings of St. Ann’s Church, regarded as the spiritual home of the Royal Navy. The night includes breath-taking solo performances, speeches, awards and a performance from the School of Music Band. The Royal Marines Young Musician of the Year Competition is a night not to be missed.
