The Royal Mint Experience day tour with afternoon tea
Thu 8 June 2017, 09:00 – 17:30 BST
Our coach departs Bristol at approximately 9am, and heads to The Royal Mint Experience. On arrival, you will be greeted by one of the Visitor Hosts who will take you through security checks. Your experience starts in the Pre-Show area, where you will gain an introduction to The Royal Mint before making the short walk over to the factory experience. Here you will 'strike your own coin', (the new 12 sided £1 coin), which is then placed into a presentation pack for you to take home. Following this you will be escorted to the self-guided interactive exhibition to explore six different zones at your own pace. Plenty of time is allowed for browsing the gift shop, or having a snack in the cafe. The coach departs the RME at approximately 2pm, and heads towards Llanerch Vineyard for a scrumptious afternoon tea. Originally a dairy farm, the first vines - a mixture of French and German hybrids, perfectly suited to the UK's climate - were planted in Llanerch in 1986. Labelled as "Cariad" wines (meaning Sweetheart or Dearest in Welsh), the wines were well received and proved hugely successful, gaining many awards. The vineyard is now fully operational, producing approximately 10,000 bottles of fine Cariad Wine each year. The current owners, The Davies family, purchased Llanerch Vineyard in 2010 and after extensive refurbishment, reopened the property in June the following year. Enjoy your afternoon tea, whilst looking over the vineyard and the stunning Welsh countryside. Afternoon tea consists of:
Loose leaf tea or freshly ground coffee
Lower Tier sandwiches - Cream cheese & cucumber (v) Honey roasted ham, Piccalilli pureé Usk River smoked salmon with lemon & dill crème fraîche Free range chicken, tomato & basil mayonnaise
Middle Tier Warm scone Welsh cake Banana bread Clotted cream Strawberry jam

Your coach departs Llanerch at 4.15pm for the journey back to Bristol, arriving approximately 5.30pm.
