Join us for the relaunch of the Cardiff Rugby Business Network to be held on 30 January 2014 at the offices of Eversheds international law firm in Cardiff city centre.
The event will be a chance to network just ahead of the 2014 Six Nations Championship with business people from Cardiff and south Wales who share a passion for the sport. The event will include a question and answer session with record-breaking Welsh international and British Lion, Martyn Williams, and Dot Davies, presenter of BBC Wales’ Sport Wales progamme, with other special guests to be confirmed. A charity raffle and draw will also be held for The Princes Trust, Cardiff Blues’ chosen charity for the 2013/14 season and funds will be raised for Velindre Cancer Care.
The Q&A panel:
Martyn Williams MBE
Martyn, who started his playing career at Pontypridd before moving on to Cardiff and Cardiff Blues, is a true Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby legend, making his very popular 100th appearance for Wales in 2012 (only the 3rd Welsh player to achieve such a landmark). A regular captain of Wales and the Blues, Martyn was capped 4 times for the British and Irish Lions, awarded the MBE in 2012 and has been made an honorary fellow of Cardiff University. Since finishing his playing career, Martyn has developed a successful media career, being a regular guest on ScrumV, and is also forging a business career with Castle Court Wealth Management, co-founded by former Cardiff scrum-half, Andy Booth.
Dot Davies is best known as the presenter of BBC Cymru Wales’ flagship sports magazine programme, Sport Wales. Dot, who was born and brought up in Blaenannerch, near Cardigan in west Wales, is the pitch-side reporter for BBC Cymru Wales’ rugby programme for S4C, Y Clwb Rygbi, and is also a sports reporter on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru. After finishing her degree in Welsh and journalism at Cardiff University, Dot joined BBC Cymru Wales as a researcher in radio in 2001. She started her broadcasting career presenting radio sports bulletins and her big break came as a tennis and rugby reporter for BBC Radio 5 Live.
