The Salvation Army, Trek Wales: Pen-Y-Fan
Sat, October 15, 2016, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM BST
Join us in #TrekWales as we hike up Pen-Y-Fan, the highest mountain south of Snowdonia, 886m above sea-level to raise money for The Salvation Army.
This year we will be doing a gentle 5-mile circular route from Port ar Daf car park at around 440m (Grid ref: 988199, postcode LD3 8NL) up to Pen-y-Fan via Corn Du (873m), then back down via Storey Arms. We have chosen this route to encourage participants of varying fitness levels and ages to take part. Most will comfortably manage the hike in 3 1/2 hours even with regular stops on the way up, at the summit and on the way down but please note the route does have rough ground and rocks to negotiate.
Registration will be from 9:00am-10:00am in Port ar Daf Car Park where you will pick up your event goodie bag providing you have paid your £10. (Under 12's go FREE)
Families are welcome; under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult and parental consent must be given.
Participants are encouraged to gain sponsorship to raise money for a Salvation Army Corps/Centre of their choice to help with The Big Collection.
