The Saturday Project : Sewing Surgery and Intro to Upcycling

These are 4 hour project based workshops on a Saturday afternoon, Each week a different project is embraced. The workshops are priced individually.
ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
If you find yourself spending a fortune at the alterations shop, leaving hems in to be shortened or lengthened, then this is the class you need. Once you have the basics up your sleeve you will save yourself a fortune! Learn how to make simple alterations and essential Sewing Survival Steps and you will be sewing on buttons in no time, replacing zips and mending holes before they even appear.
This class will give you what you need to know for mending and altering your clothes. We will also be introducing some awesome upcycling ideas on how to reinvent your clothing.
Please bring a few items of clothing from your wardrobe that need repairs and also a garment that you would like to be changed into something else.
A notepad, pencil and a camera will also be useful.
Christine teaches with patience, enthusiasm, encouragement and experience at every step. Our N.I Sewing Bee Angeline Murphy was once one of her dressmaking students. She has over 25 years experience in fashion, costume, and self employment in Northern Ireland. Her mum taught her to sew when she was 6.
Class sizes are limited to 5 people so that learning is focused and fun.
