About Dr Robert Falconer-Taylor BVetMed DipCABT MRCVS
Robert is a Veterinary Consultant and tutor on the COAPE Diploma course, as well as being the author of several other COAPE courses. He qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1981 and upon qualifying joined a mixed veterinary practice, he progressed from this into an exclusively companion animal practice before eventually joining COAPE as a partner in 2008. He currently devotes most of his time to education, regularly lecturing to audiences’ worldwide, writing in various forms as well as carrying out consultancy work for the pet industry and animal welfare.
This seminar will look to show you the science behind where a dog’s emotions come from and what function they have. It will show how to recognise and understand a dog’s core emotional state. What can go wrong when emotions are affected negatively, how the COAPE EMRA system works and lastly how by changing a dog’s emotional state through a Training or Pharmacological approach can change a dog’s behaviour.
