Discover the Science of Happiness

Has happiness always felt like an elusive goal that only a few privileged people in the world are lucky enough to experience?

Or maybe you think happiness is a myth and it doesn’t actually exist?

The good news is that neuroscientific research has identified that happiness is actually a skill you can learn like any other!

This course delves into the latest scientific research on the nature of happiness and how to maintain it sustainably.

What does the course cover?

1. The neuroscience and psychology of happiness
What’s actually happening in the body and the brain when we feel happy? What biological and psychological barriers stop us from feeling happy?

2. Measuring societal happiness
We examine the various methods social scientists use to measure happiness. Explore research and studies from around about what makes happy lifestyles and communities.

3. Happiness techniques and why they work
Experience tried and tested techniques that are proven to increase your happiness levels. Then, we’ll take a look under the bonnet to understand exactly why these things make us feel good.

4. The science of compassion
Compassion is highly linked to happiness but many people can find it hard to access. We look at what happens in the brain, in the body and how it can massively benefit your lifestyle.
