The Science of Learning - Six Strategies for Effective Learning
Tue 4 July 2017, 08:30 – 16:00 BST
How can teachers design lessons that support students’ learning more effectively? What is the knowledge, the strategies, tools and solutions that teachers should be drawing upon to support pupils’ ability to recall and retain information?
This one day conference aims to link teachers and senior leaders in schools with the research behind the science of learning. From the design of curriculum to supporting students’ abilities to independently recall key knowledge the day will explore the challenges and solutions to maximising learning in your schools.
Our target audience is both primary and secondary school leaders and classroom teachers.
The Learning Scientists, Dr Megan Smith and Dr Yana Weinstein are both cognitive psychologists working in the USA. Their main research focus is on the science of learning (hence the name!).
Their Vision is to make scientific research on learning more accessible to students, teachers, and other educators.
The day aims to:
Motivate students to study
Increase the use of effective study and teaching strategies that are backed by research
Decrease negative views of testing.
Breakfast and lunch are included. Please email any dietary requirements to email@example.com.
When booking tickets, please email the name of the school and names of the delegates to firstname.lastname@example.org.
