About this event
Jill is a Clinical Psychologist with 28 years of NHS experience in psychological support for people with mental health issues. Throughout this work Jill has supported many people how have had sleep problems as they go from exhausted to energised.
This led Jill to complete both the sleep masterclass at Oxford University’s SCNI and the 3-day training course with Sleep Unlimited as well as weekly taking part in the BSM international sleep seminars chaired by Arizona University .
From this she has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience at improving sleep for several client groups, including setting up a reasonable adjustment sleep apnoea clinic for Greater Manchester and work at Manchester’s Sleep Service.
Currently Jill runs a private practice for improving sleep.

A SciBar is literally science in a bar – an opportunity to hear a guest STEM academic, researcher, scientist or enthusiast talk about their specialist topic in an informal environment.
Anybody with a passing interest in the topic and there is no assumed knowledge of the subject. If you have a general interest in science, then a free Didsbury SciBar science event is a good place to learn a bit more, or to ask the questions you’ve always wanted answered.
Our topics are fairly diverse and vary each month; from Artificial Intelligence to Zoology. If one month’s subject of discussion isn’t grabbing your interest, keep an eye on our events calendar as we’ll inevitably be discussing something totally different the following month.
Didsbury SciBar is FREE whether you attend in person or online thanks to the generosity of our speakers, organisers and our hosts at The Albert Club.
Didsbury SciBar is hosted in the main bar at The Albert Club, 39-41 Old Lansdowne Road, West Didsbury, Manchester M20 2PA. You can also pre-register via Eventbrite to participate online.

No - Didsbury SciBar is open to all. Just turn up. We are a laid back and welcoming bunch – there’s no membership or obligation. You do not need to be a member of The Albert Club to attend Didsbury SciBar.
Originally conceived in 2008 by the North West branch of the British Science Association, Didsbury SciBar has, since 2019, expanded under the stewardship of a passionate collective of volunteers who have backgrounds in science, engineering and technology.
