Description

Join Laura Cull and Tess Denman-Cleaver for a series of three programmed walks, manifesting a consideration of the relationships between walking and thinking, landscape and health, horizons and aphorisms in Nietzsche’s life, work and influence.

Nietzsche is well known for the value he placed in walking for inducing creative thought; In particular Laura and Tess’ work, The Sea, Lies Open, considers the significance of the sea in Nietzsche’s walking and writing practices, and its effect on cultural, physiological and thought horizon lines.

Can we walk at the periphery of the human and the nonhuman? Can we think at the threshold of the unknown? How does landscape think? And how can we think alongside landscape in our practices of walking, writing, attending?

Walks will take place at dawn, midday and dusk and you can book a place on one or more of the walks; Book on to Friday's Dusk Walk or Saturday's Midday Walk.

There are very limited spaces on each walk so book early.

Walks will last approximately an hour, return to TQW Studios and be easy-going.

Warm clothing and sensible footwear is strongly advised.

We will meet at the foyer of the Tanzquartier Wein at the start time of each walk. Please arrive on time and ready to walk.
