About this event
In our professional lives, we often focus so much on others that we forget to check in with ourselves.
The Self Beyond the Role is a new warm, lightly held, structured space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with who you are — beyond your job title, responsibilities, or caregiving role, alongside others who 'get it'..
This is NOT Supervision, Peer Support Group, Personal Therapy or Reflective Practice.
The Self Beyond the Role offers:
- A structured, safe and consistent space
- Held and guided by me- an experienced Counsellor, Supervisor, Clinical Lead and natural Reflector
- A small group container (max 8) for depth and connection
- Monthly 90-minute sessions
- Thoughtfully chosen themes and reflective prompts
- Optional creative element: journalling prompts, collages, drawings, visual metaphors etc
Who it’s for: Supervisors, coaches, wellbeing practitioners, therapists, leaders, and anyone who holds space for others — and wants a moment to hold space for themselves.
The First Session’s Theme: Beyond the Job Title – When I set aside my role, responsibilities, and ‘shoulds’, what remains?
What you’ll need:
• A quiet space if possible
• Journal, sketchpad, pen and colour pencils
• Openness to pause
CPD Certificate will be provided upon completion of the session
Upcoming Sessions:
Saturday 25th October 10:00am-11:30am Theme: What Am I Carrying?-What have I taken away that isn't mine?
Saturday 29th November 10:00am-11:30am Theme: Work That Nourishes Me-What part of work feeds me, and what part starves me?
Frequently asked questions
Supervision focuses on client work, ethics, and professional oversight. This space is for you — exploring themes, journaling, and creative reflection, without case discussion or evaluative feedback.
Peer support is often informal and unstructured. Here, the process is facilitated, guided by a theme, and designed for personal reflection — you don’t need to know anyone or share unless you choose to.
Many reflective practices focus on professional growth. This one centres on the person behind the role — helping you step back from your work identity and explore your own values, needs, and creativity.
Therapy addresses personal challenges and emotions in depth. This is lighter and forward-focused, offering space to reconnect with yourself, not to process distress or work through complex issues.
Not at all. Sharing is entirely optional. You’re welcome to keep your reflections private and simply engage in the activities quietly.
No artistic skill is needed. Creative prompts are about self-expression — words, colours, shapes, or even doodles — not about producing art.
No. You can book individual sessions that resonate with you.
