Event description

Description

THE EVENT
The team behind the cult magazine Selvedge bring a curated collection of fifty merchants and makers to Bloomsbury. Our exhibitors sell a range of rare vintage fabrics, covetable haberdashery and skillfully handmade textile treasures. The fair offers the perfect opportunity to meet makers, catch up with old friends, and pick up that special something in preparation for the festive season.

THE VENUE

A Grade 1 listed building, the Mary Ward House is a result of Passmore Edwards’ 19th century philanthropy. Mary Ward gave the inspiration behind this centre for training, care and entertainment, designed for society’s less fortunate. Each room has its own ambience; the Dickens’ library especially, and the back staircase where the original mission statement is found.

MAKE A DAY OF IT

Make block printed wrapping paper with Yateley Papers at our drop-in workshops, £12. Enjoy a guided walk in the neighbouring historic Spittlefields with our free map. Relax with a cup of tea or a delicious lunch in one of the many local cafes. Buy handmade gifts and seasonal decorations.

GETTING THERE

Mary Ward House is located on 5-7 Tavistock Place, right in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. It is within 10 minutes walk of Euston, Kings Cross and Russell Square stations.
