The Sharek Project
The Sharek Project shares Arabic cultures in Derry~Londonderry.
In the past, Derry~Londonderry was a major port for emigration, as well as a destination for settlement. In recent years, our city has offered a home to people from overseas, including Jewish refugees from in Europe, and migrants from Poland, India, the Philippines, countries in Africa and more.
Recently, a dozen families from war-torn Syria found safe harbour in Derry. The Sharek Project celebrates this latest diversity, and provides channels for friendship and integration with new residents.
There are a wide range of free workshops for all who are interested in learning about or sharing cultures. Workshops will be facilitated by local people who speak Arabic. Everyone is welcome.
