Event description

Description

You have a script - how do you get it on screen?

In this inspiring, active and motivational workshop you will learn the basic requirements of pre-production and have an introduction to production equipment, including cameras microphones and lights.

In the morning you will learn how to compose a shot for maximum effect, you will learn how to cover a scene to ensure the editor has enough material to cut a good sequence and you will learn how to move the camera to develop a shot.

After lunch we will concentrate on sound and lighting. You will learn the importance of audio recording and the extra recordings needed to make the film come to life on screen. You will have an introduction to basic lighting techniques and the dos and don’t of filming with available light.

By the end of the workshop you will be able to shoot a simple dramatic scene so that it can be edited into an emotionally gripping sequence.

We will provide tea and coffee throughout the day.

Lunch is included and will usually be a vegetarian soup with bread, cheese and fruit.

Free on-site parking is available.
