Thu 25 May 2017, 18:30 – 20:45 BST
If you’re feeling wheelie tyred after a long and cold winter, then we’ve got just the thing to put the spring in your step, so if you want a pizza the action, then read on…
You are kindly invited to attend the Sixth Scottish EDGE Alumni Event to be held from 6.30 pm to 8.45 pm on Thursday 25th May at Dirty Martini, Le Monde, 16 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2PF.
This will be a great opportunity to meet and chat to the other EDGE winners and share stories about the challenges of running a business with a group of people who know where you’re coming from!
In addition to some speed networking activities we will enjoy the following:
A talk by Markus Stitz, a cyclist and content creator who has not only cycled around the world on a single-speedbike, but has grown a cycle- fanatic following at the same time. See more information on Markus below.
My Story: From two of our EDGE winners, Kristian and Darina Tapaninaho of Uuni. Kristian and Darina set up Uuniin 2012 to provide a portable and affordable wood-fired oven. In February 2017, they set out to raise $50,000 (£41,100) via an online crowdfunding campaign. However, more than 1,180 people around the world invested £530,000 for the firm’s Uuni Pro device, described as the world’s first quad-fuelled outdoor oven, capable of running on pellets, wood, charcoal and gas, which can cook pizza in less than two minutes.
A hot buffet and some drinks on us!
I do hope you can join us for what we hope will be an interesting, enjoyable and informative event. We are running these events to help create a community of EDGE winners who will support each other as you grow your businesses.
Markus describes his biggest achievement to date as cycling around the world on a single gear. Yes, a single gear! Before the epic singlespeed adventure he travelled hundreds of miles in the last few years, mainly in Europe and New Zealand, both off-road and on-road. When he is not cycling he is a passionate marketing professional. He loves singlespeed bikes and has done most of his riding in recent years with only one gear. His pictures and words have been published in Singletrack, Spoke, Scotland Outdoors, The Scotsman and Hosteller. In 2015 he developed a long distance off-road route around Edinburgh, the Capital Trail.
