The Solidarity Economy Perspective
Tue 18 October 2016, 17:45 – 21:30 BST
An evening event, introducing the International Solidarity Economy Movement and what its establishment in the UK could mean to those working for Economic and Ecological Justice, here in Britain.
The Keynote speaker is Mike Lewis, from Canada, one of the founders of RIPESS Intercontinental, the Meta Network of Social Solidarity Economy Networks. Mike will explain the origins, approach and current activities of the Solidarity Economy Movement. We will then have a panel of organisaers and academics from different sectors of the economy to discuss what they think is already happening in the UK that could be called Solidarity Economics and what kinds of Cross Sectoral initiatives that they think could work to link their sectors to others.
We'll close with a social, networking session, with some partner tables, food and drink from a local social enterprise.
The first speaker will begin at 6:00PM
