About this Event

The Stratford and The London Essence Company present the third instalment from a series of inspirational talks and panels focused on wellbeing and the future of health in this new decade. This May is all about meditation, mindfulness and the exploration of self.

Hosted and curated by chef, writer and model, Tess Ward, who will welcome a different guest and topic each month to explore subjects as diverse as food, love, women rights and spirituality. Each event will take place in the intimacy of The Mezzanine at The Stratford, and will be recorded live for Tess’s podcast “Down The Rabbit Hole”, featuring an array of inspirational speakers.

The fourth and final guest to join Tess in the intimacy of The Mezzanine at The Stratford is London-based nutrition and wellness expert, Jasmine Hemsley, & dancer and yoga teacher, Renee Stewart, to talk on the subject of Modern Mindfulness & Meditation.

The talk will begin at 7:30PM.

About Tess Ward

Le Cordon Bleu trained Tess Ward, is the author of The Naked Diet, a food consultant, writer and podcaster.

An author of cookbook ‘The Naked Diet’, encompasses a healthy food ethos and a balanced and enjoyable attitude towards health in food. Published by Quadrille, the book was well received and received a nomination for the 2015 British Book Design and Production Awards. It has also been translated into over 6 languages.

Tess's podcast Down the Rabbit Hole was launched in 2019, with season one growing momentum she covers subjects from the weird the wonderful, the spiritual, the sexual and the supernatural. Guests include Daisy Lowe, Jack Guinness, Tom Aikens, Laura Whitmore etc... Popular episode including 'Dating a sociopath and how to spot it' and 'Is our food killing us'

She is has been a contributing Editor to Glamour Magazine, The Sunday Times, Times online, GQ, Marie Claire, Vogue.co.uk, Miss Vogue, The New Yorker, Red, Sunday Girl, The Islander

Her area of interest with writing is still very much orientated towards social observation, food and health, but extends to some of the questions explored in her podcast, such as the social and political landscape impact of food and how it shapes beliefs, ideas and cultural identity.

As a food consultant, Tess has run projects with brands including Fortnum and Mason, Panasonic, Grey Goose, Sainsbury’s, San Miguel, Naturya Superfoods and Kallo. She has developed a substantial online presence and media following, and is one of the recognised foodies leading the march towards making healthy food mainstream. Her on-going projects include curating and hosting dinners, consulting, brand collaborations including, Sweaty Betty, Aveeno, Chloé, Alice Temperley, Sweaty Betty, Mulberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Nespresso, and working as a spokesperson for Fair-trade. Combining her love of fashion with food, she has also involved in campaigns for Monica Vinader, Creme de la Mer, Michael Kors, Karen Millen and Schwarzkopf
