The Sound of You: How Voice Shapes Image, Presence and Impact
Overview:
The voice is central to how we are perceived — it reveals personality, emotion, confidence, and authenticity.
We will explore the relationship between voice and image, uncovering how the sound of our voice can strengthen or undermine the impression we create.
When our sound matches our intention, we come across as genuine, confident, and credible.
When it doesn’t, the listener senses the mismatch and disengages — no matter how polished our appearance or words may be.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand how personality and intention are revealed through voice.
- Understand the psychology and physiology behind an effective speaking voice.
- Recognise the impact of voice–image alignment on credibility and influence.
- Learn why we experience vocal tension, shaky voice, breathlessness, or fatigue under pressure — and what to do about it.
- Discover how to sound more confident and authentic, even in challenging situations.
- Take away practical, evidence-based techniques for maintaining a free, expressive, and reliable voice, which strengthens personal impact and communication confidence.
