If so, why not join our ‘Couch to 5K’ course. It’s proven that regular exercise will give you more vitality, help you manage your weight and generally help get you fitter!  The current advice is that being overweight increases your risk of contracting serious illnesses, including coronavirus. Running is the easiest and cheapest way to build fitness, but lots of people find they lose motivation trying to do this on their own, or they end up getting injured because they aren’t sure what they should be doing.

The beginner friendly ‘C25K’ lasts 9 weeks and will take you from running 1 minute / walking 1 ½ minutes (eight times) in week one, to being able to run continuously for 30 minutes by the end. There is one coached session a week and 2 runs you do away either on your own, or with the friends you make on the course.With the support of the group, a Facebook closed group of over 800 past participants and our coaches, plus the downloadable app, you'll be running to a new you in no time. You don't have to come to every run, but we do like you to attend either session 1 or 2 and recommend that you stick to the programme. If you are away for week 1 you can join in week 2.

What about the coaches on the course? Our run leaders are people just like you, who’ve grown to love running and want to share their passion. Lots of them got here by the same route and realise how important a super friendly sociable group is.

The courses are subsidised by Sport England and priced at £15* for those who do less than 30 minutes of exercise a week & £25* for everyone else. If you did one of our courses in the past and your running has lapsed for whatever reason, you’re welcome back as long as it was more than 6 months since you completed your course.
