Please join us for our June Chapter Meeting. As usual we will be welcoming some of the UK's top cyber security speakers and we thank Grant Thornton for hosting this event.

We conclude the event with drinks and networking, where you will get the opportunity to meet with your peers and discuss your cyber security challenges in an informal atmosphere. We opearte the Chatham House rule. 

3 CPE points will be awarded for attending the whole session!

5.00 - Opening, Gabe Chomic - ISSA-UK President

Gabe Chomic is President of the ISSA-UK Chapter. In various past lives, he has performed in-depth security engineering in heavy industry & SCADA environments, analysed international business and security processes in fourteen countries, and dabbled in government IT. His current passions involve the economic drivers behind insecurity, the cascading effects of small business failure, and the changing perception of information security in the public eye.


5.10 - Jason Steer, EMEA CTO,

Menlo Security -  'Isolation – Enhancing your Cyber Strategy’ 

Jason is an engineer at heart – he has built and broken computer networks since 1996. Jason has worked at a number of successful security vendors over the past 15 years, including IronPort, Veracode & FireEye. You can follow Jason @verylongbloke on twitter.


5.40 - Nigel Jones, CEO, IAAC - 'Understanding Careers and Professionalism in Cyber Security'

 Nigel is CEO of the Information Assurance Advisory Council (IAAC), a not for profit network bringing industry, government and academic sectors together to work on information society challenges – and opportunities. He is a Visiting Fellow at King’s College London, Department of Defence Studies and runs his own consultancy and research business. Previously he worked at Cranfield University at the UK Defence Academy where he developed the cyber postgraduate programme for Defence. He has also directed the Technology Strategy Board’s (now Innovate UK) Cyber Security Knowledge Transfer Network. This he did whilst at QinetiQ where he ran a cyber security and information operations consultancy team. His interests in education and communications in security and conflict stem from his time in the British Army.

6.55 - Ian Glover, President, CREST - 'Cyber Security Profession' 

Ian Glover has worked in the IT industry for the last 40 years and has been working in information security for the last 36 years: and has enjoyed nearly every minute of it. As President of CREST he has taken it to a position of influence in the technical security industry. He has been instrumental in a significant number of major initiatives in the cyber security industry.
