Join writer and archaeologist Annalie Seaman for a four-part creative writing course rooted in the seasons, exploring the stories we tell in the waning year. We’ll look at themes that connect us to modern, historic and ancient cultures, to celebration and to story itself. Each workshop takes place between 10am-11.45am.
The combined cost for all the workshops is £100, but we understand that it isnt always easy to pay in a lump sum. If you want, you can book on the course and pay £25 for each workshop on the day.
Email jo.seaman@minthousepevensey.co.uk if you want to pay in this way.
Falling (Saturday September 20th)
A crisp and vibrant fall into autumn through the senses, the waning days, the visual splendour, the chill, and the abiding promise of the season, that the way forward is through darkness.
Festivals of the Dead (Saturday October 18th)
Tracing lines of diaspora from the old world to the new world and back to their roots in the ancient world, we’ll be crossing continents in our search for the global culture and archaeology of festivals of the dead.
Genius Loci (Saturday November 15th)
Ever elusive and almost tangible, we’ll be seeking the genius loci of the old Tudor house. How does history hang in the walls, in the shadow of the castle, on the border of the marsh?
Starlight (Saturday December 20th)
A mythological dive into the starry skies as we follow ancient stories through the constellations and back through time to the cultures who created gods and legends so enduring were still telling them.
