Description

A Bengali folk ballad, which is presented through unique story-telling and visceral music. This biblical story of temptation and other mythical stories from the global sources are connected in this heart-rending Bengali folk ballad. The story unfolds the tragedy of inerasable human fate through beautiful folk-music of Bengal.

Binond, a Gallinule hunter, chased a bird through the marsh (Haowr) Hakaluki. He didn't pay heed to the warning given by his sister, mother and fellow shepherds. Eventually Binond found the bird, but was bitten by a deadly venomous snake (Kaal-Naag), leading to his death.

The cast includes:

Eric Schelander, mainly a Schubert and Troubadour vocalist, who will act as the central character.

Amal Podder, ‘Dutara’ player - A unique traditional string based instrument for Bengali folk music.
