Come and join Mark Damon Chutter for a historical walk concerning the infamous Judge Jeffreys who came to Dorchester in 1685 and resided in lodgings in High West Street. Here he sat in trial of the supporters of the Duke of Monmouth and their failed rebellion against King James II. The Bloody Assizes were held in the Antelope Oak Room. Jeffreys was perceived as one of the worst judges for sentencing in England. Come and learn more!
