A guided walk alongside the Stour at Stodmarsh NNR

About this event

A guided walk along the banks of the Stour as it passes by one of the most important wetlands and reedbeds in Kent and arguably the UK. Led by Our Stour Officer Lauren, we will discuss the importance of the different habitats neighbouring the river as well as the Stour itself.

As always with wildlife we can’t guarantee what we will see, but if weather and luck is on our side we could see a range of damselflies/dragonflies and butterflies as well as a variety of birds such as marsh harriers and kingfishers. There will also be the opportunity to see a range of signs of beaver activity.

Whilst this walk isn’t focused on photography, please bring along your cameras if you wish to capture some memories!

This is a free event but a donation pot will be available at the end of the walk should you wish to provide a small donation.

Meeting point: By the information sign outside the toilets at Grove Ferry Picnic Site. (What3Words reference: oath.messaging.highly). The car park at Grove Ferry Picnic Site is pay and display.

The walk will be approximately 3 miles long on public footpaths which may be uneven under foot.
