If you cannot spread out as strawberry runners do, then perhaps it’s time to garden upwards. We will be making hanging baskets this week from natural, flexible stems such as willow. These baskets will cater to any plants you desire.

Tomatoes, herbs or dangling fellows will all thrive in your basket but the suggestion this week, if you want to get started early, is… strawberries!

Alpine strawberries like to lounge in the shade and can take very good care of themselves after planting.

This week we will be making perhaps the most time honoured vertical gardening solution - the hanging basket.
