Event description

Description

“Given the uncertain nature of the current situation we ask that everyone meet at the designated safe space.”

In the wake of an earth-jolting event confusion reigns and communication channels begin to breakdown. For one reason or another residents seek out a place of refuge: The Sunnyside Centre.

In this site-responsive new theatre piece from the Village Pub Theatre, The Hibs Supporters Club is transformed as playwrights Tim Barrow, Sophie Good, Louise E Knowles, James Ley and Helen Shutt reimagine the venue, creating new worlds that spill out of the people who now use the centre, through the stories they tell. A man dances alone under a spotlight, a group huddle to listen to a reading, another are asked to present their ID, some are here for the entertainment while others are at the heart of the resistance. The audience are invited to experience each story by joining our five characters in different parts of the centre in a series of intimate encounters.

This will be an interactive and dynamic evening of theatre weaving together five stories delivered as solo performances and witnessed by audiences as they journey around the venue.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the event or earlier if you are part of a group and wish to be accomodated together. Unfortunately latecomers cannot be admitted and you must be aged 18 and over.

Please contact the organisers at pubplays@gmail.com should you have any accessibility requirements, or if tickets are unavailable online.
