About the trainer

Robin Shohet has been supervising since 1976. His books include Supervision in the Helping Professions, Supervision in the Medical Profession, Passionate Supervision, Supervision as Transformation, In Love with Supervision and his latest Supervision as Spiritual Practice published in 2024.

When I was working as a residential social worker in the late 70’s, a stressful job, I was able to survive because I had first class supervision. I resolved when I left that I would share what I learnt and have been training supervisors since.
In my experience the relationship is key and in this workshop we will explore what contributes to a fulfilling relationship and what might get in the way. We will look at the context in which supervision happens, implicit and explicit contracts, use of self, power, fear and shame, intent and impact, uncovering core beliefs, keeping our hearts open. The skills we learn in supervision are not just for supervision, but life skills.
