In this psychologically thrilling film The Surfer, a man (Nicolas Cage) returns to his childhood Australian beach to buy his family home and surf with his son, but is confronted by a hostile group of locals who claim ownership of the beach. This initial encounter leads to a surreal and increasingly bizarre standoff as the man becomes drawn into the locals' warped rituals and a desperate battle for dignity, purpose, and survival.
