Join us for our first Day of Action event of the day! We have invited NHS professionals to speak about their sustainability journeys!
About this event
It has been found that the NHS is responsible for an estimated 5% of the UK’s carbon footprint. And with 900 fatalities due to soaring temperatures in 2019 and 18million patients visiting GP practices due to high air pollution levels, NHS leaders knew something had to be done, so it became the world’s first national health system to make net-zero commitments and develop clear deliverables and milestones.
Whilst the NHS may have clearly set out goals and objectives to meet these net-zero requirements, there are many blockers to them delivering the greener healthcare system we dream of.
For the first event on our Day of Action, we will be inviting NHS professionals from a multitude of departments to speak about their sustainability journeys and the challenges they have faced and overcome.
