Event description
This study day will explore the Eucharist and its symbols: vestments, architecture, and gesture. Led by the Rev Dr Zachary Guiliano

About this Event

The sacrament of the Eucharist is "an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace," according to the Church of England's catechism and the teachings of the Church Fathers. But many symbols surround the celebration of the Eucharist: vestments, gestures, and actions. These public acts of prayer and worship take place in highly stylized or decorated buildings. Why do we do this?

Come on 19 October to learn why and to enter more deeply into the living prayer of the Church.

Lunch is included, with tea and coffee breaks throughout the day. Ticket price covers food costs.

This study day is part of the 2019-2020 formation programme of St Bene't's Church, Cambridge. For details of other study days, reading groups, and talks, see our website.

Booking via Eventbrite is available until 13 October. For questions about booking, please e-mail info@stbenetschurch.org. The ticket price may be waived for students or any others for whom the ticket price would be an obstacle.
