The Table of Life
At The Table of Life people talk about life, love and loss. We share food and thoughts, often with people we don’t know. For a couple of hours, we step out of the rush and noise of our daily lives. We sit down, listen, share and get nourished.
Every Table of Life focuses on a particular part of life. We may use a book, short film or quote to get our conversation started.
2nd November and 9th December: Remembering our lost ones
At the Tables of Life in November and December we remember the people we have lost. Recently or longer ago. The November Table is on All Souls' Day, traditionally a holy day set aside to honour the dead. December is a month full of festivities and family gatherings. Dealing with the loss of a familiy member or friend may be extra difficult in this period.
After an introduction to the evening we will be sharing food that reminds us of the people we have lost. You are also invited to bring a picture of the person you would like to commemorate. By sharing pictures, dishes and stories we will honour the people who have played an important part in our lives and who are still present in our memories.
Bring a dish and a picture
You are all invited to bring a picture of the person you would like to commemorate and a dish that reminds you of them. Rosalie will provide drinks, coffee and tea. A donation of £6 is asked to cover for the costs. If cost is a barrier concessions are available - please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
"Beautiful intimate gathering in a warm, friendly and supportive space. The ambience of the evening allowed me to talk freely about a friend who had passed away quite a while ago and I found another level of closure and letting go." - Table of life participant
