Join Uzma and Neath for The Table Remembers—a creative, participatory gathering centred on women’s stories, memory, and craft. Rooted in both stillness and movement, the session invites moments of reflection through shared rituals—laying a table, drinking tea—while also embracing the act of creation through conversation and collaborative making. Together we will co-create a living tablecloth using mixed media—textiles, collage, drawing, and stitch—infused with fragments of personal narratives.Come to eat, co-create, talk—to slow down, to make, and to honour women’s voices through expressive, gentle storytelling. Voice recordings and photography may be taken to document the experience.
This workshop is part of The Common Threads Festival, an international weaving project bringing cultures, ideas and people together and taking place from the 24th -27th September on the Moor in Sheffield.
Common Threads has grown from a collaboration between The Bare Project, Higsad Alool Weavers and textile groups across Sheffield.
There will be a photographer present at this event, and the images may be used by The Bare Project and the artists deliving the workshop for marketing and evaluation purposes. If you do not wish for your photograph to be taken for any reason then please speak with one of the team at the start of the event.
