What is Tadabbur:
Al-Suyuti said: "It is recommended to recite with reflection and understanding... One should occupy their heart with pondering the meaning of what they are saying, so that they know the meaning of every verse, reflect on the commands and prohibitions therein, and commit to accepting them. If one finds that they have fallen short in the past, they should feel regret and seek forgiveness. Whenever they pass by a verse of mercy, they should feel joy and ask for mercy. Whenever they pass by a a verse of punishment, they should fear it and seek refuge with God. Whenever they pass by a a verse of glorification, they should glorify God. Whenever they pass by a supplication, they should humble themselves and beseech God."
"There is nothing more beneficial for the slave in his worldly life and his Hereafter, and closer to his salvation, than the contemplation of the Quran and prolonging that."
- Ibn al-Qayyim
