As a first HT event, Oxford Fintech and SmartLaw Society in partnership with Bitmeet invited Cais Manai from R3 to lead the workshop on The Technical Aspects of Smart Contracts and Blockchain. The speaker will briefly introduce Blockchain and Corda and then participants will dive into how to build a CorDapp. Corda is a private and secure platform for smart contract development which removes costly friction in business transactions by enabling institutions to transact directly using smart contracts.

HT19 Oxford FSS Workshop Series: "Demystifying Smart Contracts and Blockchain"

Smart contracts and Blockchain are widely advertised and discussed across the world. A variety of businesses are trying to implement blockchain in order to increase their business efficiency, with smart contracts being perceived by many as the replacement for traditional contracts. The Oxford Fintech and SmartLaw will be organizing and hosting the series of events within the umbrella concept of "Demystifying Smart Contracts and Blockchain". The purpose of the events will be to understand and discuss the hidden threats of smart contracts and blockchain and to analyze some successful examples of their implementation.
