Event description
In Environmental Futures #3, fellow Interintellects David Valerio and David McDougall explore ways to blend nature with technology

About this Event

"Can we keep Planet Earth habitable for humanity?

This is perhaps the most important question of the 21st century. As carbon emissions continue to rise and topsoil continues to fade away, transformational changes look inevitable - but what if they aren’t?

One path to solving our environmental challenges would be to build our way out. By harnessing the power of technology, might we be able to make our environment whole again? Could the solution to our present crisis be to take more control of nature rather than less?

In this Interintellect Salon we will explore cutting edge technologies like carbon capture and storage, ocean fertilization, and solar geoengineering, and discuss the ethical, technical, cultural, and environmental consequences of taking full human ownership of the natural environment." - Salon Hosts David McDougall and David Valerio
