City of York Council has teamed up with York Science Park to bring Jonathan Mitchener, Head of ICT at the Technology Strategy Board and Nick Bassett, leading on the Nutrition for Life to York.

The Technology Strategy Board works with the Innovation Programme Directorate at the UK Government's executive innovation agency, the Technology Strategy Board, Providing ICT technology expertise, and driving high-impact investments in innovation projects and businesses across the UK, with a headline budget of circa £500m a year.

Jonathan Mitchener has 21 + years of experience as a research scientist, technology specialist and futurologist, he now works with The Technology Strategy Board to drive the ICT Innovation Strategy for the UK, encouraging investment in leading edge ICT projects for UK companies. He has a wide previous background in distributed computer systems, software and systems specifitions techniques, outsourced management and business process re-engineering.

Nick Bassett - Nick joined the Technology Strategy Board from the research councils UK Shared Service Centre (RCUK SSC) where he held a number of roles across the organisation as head of procurement - Service Delivert, Head of Customer Development and Interim Client Services Director. Prior to this he also worked at the Biotechnology and Biological Science Research Council. Prior to this,he worked in the Medical Devices Sector in various positions, most specifically immuno-diagnostic development and production for companies such as Beckman Coulter and Dako. He is also the Managing Director and co-founder of an ImmunoHistoChemical Screening company.
