This workshop is for those of you suffering from spiritual poverty and takes its title from Robert Blys epic anti-war poem The Teeth Mother Naked At Last, where he explored the West's choice to destroy rather than create. Writing poetry as social commentators, we will explore Blys concept of feminine consciousness in mythology as 4 manifestations of the Great Mother, and apply these to our lived experience. Writing from the Good Mother, the Death Mother, the Ecstatic Mother or the Teeth Mother, this workshop will guide you to reveal, through your poetry, the forces that silence the feminine and embrace the masculine. We will explore the language of othering, repetition and imagery to write poems of protest and solidarity.
