'We are such stuff as dreams are made on... And our little lives are rounded with a sleep.'
The year is 2182, and floating through space is the freighter The Island. On board are Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan and her daughter Miranda. For 12 years they have been drifting through space along accompanied on board only by the spirit Ariel and the cyborg Caliban.
But now they are going to cross paths with the King of Naples' ship, The Royal. On board are Alonso, King of Naples and Antonio, Prospero's brother, who were responsible for her overthrow and banishment. Because of this betrayal, Prospero sends Ariel to seemingly destroy the ship and in doing so, take her revenge. But is all as it seems?
This reimagined version of Shakespeare's classic text keeps the orignal language and fuses it with a futuristic setting ,while still keeping the central themes of family, magic and forgiveness.
