Event description

Description

In this dynamic session you’ll be challenged to open your mind and learn how to identify common purpose with your customers to then use this new clarity to create value and drive creativity & brand behaviour within your business

Those standout, brilliantly disruptive brands you admire, brands like Airbnb, Deliveroo, Patagonia and First Direct didn’t craft their success by riffing their way through a list of marketing tactics and strategies. They didn’t choose style over substance or hacks over hard work. These brands start with a simple idea: what is our purpose and where does it intersect with what our audiences care about? They defined a common purpose which acts as a bridge for connection between themselves and their customers. They use this understanding as a platform for developing great ideas that consistently communicate what makes them special and gradually deepens and enriches their relationship with their customers.

Is your business doing a good job of expressing what really matters, sharing the stuff that compelled you to build a business in the first place? Are your customers kindred spirits or just the people that buy the stuff?

If you aspire to build a brand that matters to your customers this means that you need to know who you are and what compels your business to do what it does so well. Being able to ‘operationalise’ this, making it a driving force in your business rather than just fuel for discrete marketing activity is what gives you the possibility of developing a brand that deserves to be up there alongside the greats.

After this workshop you’ll know exactly how to identify your own meaning & purpose and where that overlaps with your customers. Identifying this common purpose will act as a catalyst for fresh thinking around your brand and marketing strategy so that you can increasingly stand out from the crowd and get noticed.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how to identify your values, meaning & purpose
  • Learn how to identify what is important to your customers
  • Learn how to Identify your common purpose
  • Gain starting points for how you can use this new clarity to drive creativity and brand behaviour within your business

The workshop will include worksheets, case studies, practical examples and action planning. Brain food & refreshments will be provided

Our facilitator for this session is John Zaheer-Flaherty of numberoneson, a senior marketing consultant and brand strategist with more than 20 years experience of leading household name brands such as Youngs, Durex, Scholl & Reebok domestically & internationally and more recenty helping small businesses grow. John is a coach and mentor for various startup networks, a guest lecturer on entrepreneurship & brand strategy and a graduate of Seth Godin's altMBA.
