The Three Principal Aspects of the Path: The Path of Wisdom

Day Course with Gen Kelsang Gomchen | 10am - 4:30pm

Cost: £30

“Strive in the means for realizing dependent relationship.”

Je Tsongkhapa

This day course will explore the third of The Three Principle Paths that lead to the state of enlightenment, the correct view of emptiness.

Although we may have developed renunciation and the supreme good heart of Bodhichitta, unless we turn our mind to meditation on emptiness we wil not be able to cut the root of all suffering, self-grasping ignorance. The best way to understand emptiness, the way things really are, is to understand dependent relationship- how things exists as dependent arisings and lack their own inherent fixed natures. Je Tsongkhapa said that dependent relationship was the “King of Reasons” for establishing emptiness and in his Three Principal Aspects, he explains how we can understand all phenomena as depending on their mere name.

Gen Gomchen will guide us step by step through the profound explanation of emptiness that is revealed by Je Tsongkhapa in The Three Principal Aspects of the Path and its commentary in The Mirror of Dharma. In particular we will explore the profound teaching on the Union of Appearance and emptiness, Buddha’s highest correct view that is revealed in the Tantras and how we can use this to abandon all the obstructions to our enlightenment.
