Description

The Three Principal Aspects of the Path: The Path to Perfect Peace

Day Course with Gen Kelsang Gomchen | 10am - 4:30pm

Cost: £30

“…renunciation is very important to begin, make progress along and complete the path to enlightenment, which in turn proves that renunciation is the essential meaning of the teachings of all the Buddha’s”

– Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, The Mirror of Dharma

This day course will explore the first of The Three Principle Paths that lead to the state of enlightenment, the joyful mind of renunciation.*

To practice renunciation, it does not mean that we abandon our friends and family or give up our wealth and possessions, it simply means that we seek a state of permanent peace and the abandonment of all suffering and its causes. The moment we develop this spontaneous wish for liberation, at that time renunciation is generated and we have entered the actual path to the perfect peace of Nirvana.

Gen Gomchen will give line by line commentary to the precious explanation of renunciation found in The Mirror of Dharma and explain how we can use this heart advice from Je Tsongkhapa and Venerable Geshe-la to develop this mind within ourselves.

*PLEASE NOTE: Following on from this course there will be two follow-on courses that will explore the remaining two principle paths – Bodhichitta and the correct view of emptiness. :

The Path of Compassion | Sat 2 November | 10am - 1pm

The Path of Wisdom | Sat 9 November | 10am - 4:30pm
