A lunchtime webinar examining the UK’s ‘Productivity Puzzle’ and why it matters for the Budget.

Interest in the UK’s stalling productivity growth has intensified in light of an anticipated downgrade to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR)’s productivity forecasts. We will present an overview of what the productivity puzzle is, the reasons behind it, and its possible implications for the Chancellor’s upcoming Budget on 26th November.

Miguel León-Ledesma is Professor of Economics at Exeter University Business School. Previously, he was Professor and Head of Economics at the University of Kent. He is a Fellow of CEPR, NIESR and the Royal Economic Society. He has published extensively in the areas of growth and productivity and has been a consultant for international institutions such as the Asian Development Bank and the European Central Bank.
