The Treecreepers Birdwatching Group

The second September session! Please DO NOT sign up to this date if you are already registered to attend the 7th September.

This Treecreepers session will be at Craigmillar Castle Park where we will see what we can spot throughout the woodland and parkland. We may also venture into Little France Park if we have time. Every experience level welcome!

The group is non-hierarchical so, whilst I will loosely organise and time keep, the session structure and flow will be shaped by everyone to facillitate knowledge sharing and community. This group is for people aged 18-35 only.

We will meet outside Bridgend Farmhouse at 1pm. What3Words location: funds.string.vibes

Wear appropriate clothes and footwear for the weather forecast. If you have binoculars, ID books or anything else you think you may want, please do bring along. There are toilets and refreshments at Bridgend Farmhouse Cafe. Please arrive a bit early if you want to purchase anything before the walk.

Pricing:

I am just one person running and organising this group so, in order for this to be sustainable long term for me, I charge a small fee per session. This covers my time at the Living Wage rate with any excess income reinvested in the group. Pricing is as follows:

• Supporter Rate: £8. For those who have more than enough to comfortably meet their needs and non-essentials. This will help make the sessions accessible to others and supports my work.
• Standard Rate: £5. For those who can cover their needs with some extra for non-essentials.
• Accessible Rate: £3. For those who struggle to afford anything beyond basic necessities(e.g. on benefits or unemployed).

No questions asked, choose what works for you. Your presence matters most!

NOTE: Eventbrite adds a service fee to all tickets. To avoid this extra cost I am happy to take cash in person at the beginning of the session. Please email thetreecreepers@outlook.com to register for a space in advance.

Accessibility:

The majority of the walk will take place on grass and mud tracks with some paved paths. There are some hilly sections but nothing too steep. I will endeavour to make our route, pace and distance accessible to all attendees where possible.

The bus numbers 24, 33, 38, 49, 51 stop very close to the meeting point. Buses 3, 7, 8, 12, 29, 31, 37, 47, 47B, X33, X62 and X95 all stop within 15 minutes walk.
