Many of us feel a deep connection to trees. We’re drawn to woods and forests, sensing in them something ancient and alive. The loss of a beloved tree can feel like losing a family member.
What is it that calls to us about these beings? What do forests mean to us—not just ecologically, but imaginatively and spiritually? How can we listen to them? Learn from them? And how do we explore our relationship with them, both creatively and courageously?
This course takes place over three sessions on Thursdays 12th, 19th and 26th February 2026. Each session lasts from 6-7.30pm (UK timezone). (Eventbrite should automatically display the time in your local timezone.)
In this highly interactive, three-week writing series, we will:
• Read and write poetry rooted in the imagery of forests
• Explore the forest as a symbol of the untamed self
• Communicate with trees through meditation, journaling, and time in their presence (if possible)
• Discover the hidden wisdom of forest communities and what they teach us about being human
This course is for forest bathing guides, eco-therapists, and anyone who wants to put down deeper, wilder roots in their writing.
No writing experience necessary—just a love for trees and a willingness to listen.
Please note that at Tariki Trust, we generally do not record our online events. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds to people who do not show up assuming that they will get a recording.
Please note that although this event is part of the Ten Directions training course for ecotherapy practitioners, anybody can book and take part in this public online event. If you are interested, please do buy a ticket – all are welcome!
