Description

The Twisted Roots of Rock 'n' Roll - An Audio-Visual Journey

By Rob Dickins CBE

Rob will take us on a fascinating journey through music, photography, film and storytelling to explain how one of the greatest cultural phenomena of the 20th century happened.

Rob Dickins joined Warner Bros Music Publishing and was appointed International Vice President of the company in 1979. He signed Prince, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, the Sex Pistols, Whitesnake and Madness amongst others.

In 1983, Dickins became the Chairman of Warner Music UK. His first signing, Howard Jones, sold 4 million records, whilst US artists such as Prince, Foreigner and Madonna also contributed to the Warner recovery.

In the 2002 Queen's Birthday Honours Dickins was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the music industry.
