The UKFEchat National Conference 2016: Local heroes
Sat 22 October 2016, 10:00 – 17:00 BST
The UKFEchat National Conference 2016 gathers local heroes from around the country to share the good stuff.
It's a day of pedagogical discussion and workshops, an exchange of teaching, managing, and leadership advice, as well as debate on bigger themes in FE. There's loads of opportunity for everyone who attends to get involved as much or as little as they fancy. It's about sharing, support and collaboration.
Above all else the day will be useful, with new ideas to consider as well as practical tools to use wherever you work, whether you're a sector leader, an experienced teacher or brand new to the profession. Meet like-minded people, get a motivational power-up and have a brilliant day of FE.
We have over 40 confirmed sessions so far and we're still adding to the programme, so there's something to meet everyone's specific interests, with themes such as:
- The art, craft and science of teaching.
- Leading. Managing. Learning.
- English, maths and tech enhanced learning.
- Inclusion, support and behaviour management.
- Policy and practice.
It's going to be brilliant, even if we do say so ourselves...

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The venue, BSiX College is in Hackney and about 10 minutes on the overground train from central London, in Zone 2. Click here for the college website for more details about how to get there.
Clapton Station is the nearest at 0.2 miles away from the college.
I need a hotel, where should I stay?
There are some excellent places to stay in the Hackney area including a Travelodge and a Premier Inn. Hackney is less than a mile from the college and the hotels tend to be much cheaper than those closer to the centre of London.
Is lunch provided?
The college is opening the canteen for us so there will be lots of lunch options as well as tea and coffee to buy on the day.
What is the refund policy?
I'm afraid we aren't able to offer refunds, but we are happy for you to pass your ticket to a colleague. If you could let us know tha name of the person you are transferring your ticket to, that would be marvellous.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
